Locking Systems - One Year Warranty ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions Locking Systems Limited Warranty ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc. warrants its products against defects in workmanship and materials, subject to ordinary wear. Product obtained for resale by ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc. bears the warranty of its manufacturer. Batteries, fuses, low voltage wiring and expendable items are not covered by this limited warranty. This limited warranty is null and void if the product has been 1) damaged by improper installation related to non-certified personnel (except when installation is performed under a ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc. contract), accident, misuse or abuse or 2) used in conjunction with components or parts not supplied by ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc. (expressly excluding PMSs) or 3) installed by non-certified personnel or 4) modified or improperly serviced or 5) customer has failed to maintain product or their components in accordance with ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc. maintenance instructions. Any proposed modification or substitution of parts must first be submitted to ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc. for evaluation and written approval received from ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc. before implementation. This limited warranty applies to products installed in indoor, climate-controlled applications, except that the following products may be installed on the exterior of buildings: 1) ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc. Remote Card Readers, fitted with rain hoods and heaters; 2) Exterior Escutcheons of ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc. Exit Device Hardware with anodized aluminum base material finishes or polished chrome finishes and fitted with a weather package, as specified by ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc.. The term of warranty is from the recorded date of initial product shipment, provided all products have been stored properly prior to installation. If customer has contracted for installation of product with ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc., then warranty period shall begin from the date of installation acceptance, in lieu of recorded date of shipment, and is as follows: 1) Locksets and Remote Card Readers - One Year, except anodized aluminum finish surfaces are warranted that the finish will maintain its cosmetic appearance for a period of seven (7) years, excluding normal wear and tear or abuse, and locksets have been subject to cleaning of finish surface at least every two (2) months and no chemicals/solvents are applied; 2) Computer Equipment – One Year, except third party computer equipment such as Dell server or electronic programming tablet or lap top, Front Desk Equipment will be 1 year. ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc.’s only liability, whether in tort or in contract under this limited warranty, is to provide depot-level repair, adjustment, or replacement of defective product returned to ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc., Richardson, Texas during the warranty period. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE EXCLUDED. Replacement products shall be warranted for a period of 12 calendar months from the date of their installation. Customer must obtain a ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc. RMA (“RETURNED MATERIAL AUTHORIZATION”) number from ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc. before returning any product to ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc., Richardson. The RMA number is only valid for fourteen (14) days from the date of issuance and must appear on the shipping label of product being returned. Upon receipt of product returned for repair or replacement, ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc. will determine if this limited warranty applies. If the limited warranty does not apply, ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc. will notify the customer of estimated costs for repair or replacement, and obtain the customer’s authorization before proceeding. No C.O.D. charges will be accepted for returned products. If an item is covered under the limited warranty, ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc. shall bear the cost of standard UPS ground shipment of the replacement part to the customer’s business address and, if directed by ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc., the cost of standard UPS ground shipment of the defective part to ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Inc.. Any air or other expedited delivery of replacement parts will be at customer expense and billed to the customer’s account.
